How long does it take to prepare a quote?
The time it takes for us to give you a quote can vary depending on the scale of the task at hand. For small repairs, you can expect a prompt estimation of cost. More elaborate jobs, like construction and renovation, will take longer to quote - possibly weeks if the job requires the work of multiple tradespeople. There are many factors that must be accounted for to give an accurate appraisal.
FAQ
Should I continue using my building while repairs or renovations take place?
Depending on the work being done, this is entirely up to you. If you are having major structural work completed in your home, we endeavour to minimise disruption to you and any other occupants. However, this may result in work taking longer and costing more, as access to certain areas will be restricted during certain hours.
Will the price change after I sign the contract?
Quotes vary from job to job. It is possible the final cost of your project will be higher or lower than what was agreed upon initially. Variations made to the plan have an impact on the final product, whether this is a new finish, colour scheme or material. Another thing to keep in mind is provisional sums and prime costs, which are allowances in the contract price for aspects that have not yet been confirmed. Maybe you allowed five hundred dollars of prime costs for a bathtub, but you sourced one yourself for more or for less than that amount. Provisional sums are labour estimates, and if the build runs ahead or behind schedule this can change. All these things add up, and while we strive to give you an all-encompassing quote, the final sum is dependent on a range of factors, which can't all be controlled.
How long will my work take?
This can vary greatly depending on the task being completed. Small repairs and regular maintenance can usually be carried out in a matter of hours, but the construction of a verandah could take days, depending on the size and inclusions. When we issue you a quote, we include all information about expected costs and the duration of the job. But changes to plans and unforeseen circumstances can have their own varying impacts.
